Annika and Daddy

Here are a few pictures of Annika (just turned 6 months old!) and Daddy.
Annika got sick for the first time (just a little fever and clingy).

Carl's first day at work. Just in case we forgot to tell people, we recently moved to Sioux Falls, SD, for Carl to start work as a pediatric hospitalist at Sanford Children's Hospital. It's good to get back to the Midwest, although we already miss all our friends in Phoenix.

The backyard at our new house (with a little flooding of the creek after some significant rains).

First solid foods

A few weeks ago, we tried rice cereal for the first time.

Apparently, we're not too sure what's going on...

Annika actually did really well with the spoon.

By the end of it, she was absolutely loving it!
She had an eventful week- over the course of about a week, Annika started rice cereal, rolled over (both front to back and back to front), sat without support, and got up on her hands and knees and started rocking back and forth! It's a busy time, and it's amazing to watch her develop and change before our eyes.

All dressed up!

Contrary to this picture, she was not a huge fan of the sunglasses.

First time swimming!

As we were in the process of moving, we were able to stay with some friends, Paul and Marilyn, for a few nights, and Annika got to experience a swimming pool for the first time. It took a little while, but she enjoyed it!

4 months

We went to a loud restaurant with some of Carl's residency classmates- Annika did not like the noise at all and cried a good portion of the evening. Here we are making sad faces.

She really likes to ride on Daddy's shoulders.

Going away party for Liz with some Bible study friends.

Washington DC

Liz and Annika went on a "sister trip" to Washington DC in June, meeting up with Kim and Steph for a week.

Four months old

Annika was baptized at Covenant Community Church (our church home while in Phoenix), on June 5.

All the grandparents came down to Phoenix for Annika's baptism and for Carl's graduation from residency.

Annika loves books, although she's now into eating them.

We are very blessed. Annika has always been a very happy little girl.
