Bouncer and Baby Bjorn
We finally tried out Annika's bouncer seat and Baby Bjorn (baby carrier). Thankfully, she seemed to like them pretty well, and it's nice to have a couple more options during the day, so Mom and Dad can get things done around the house. She promptly fell asleep as soon as Liz strapped her in the carrier.
It's also a blessing that Annika usually falls asleep as soon as we get her in her carseat in the car. She's slept right through the few errands we've gone on, and Liz even took her for a walk in the stroller for the first time.
First Bath
After delaying Annika's first bath for almost 2 weeks, we finally got her all cleaned up, with Grandma's help. Like just about everything else, we had procrastinated for about as long as we could!
Grandparents in town
Annika got to meet Grandpa and Grandma Shubert for the first time this week. It has been wonderful to have Liz's parents here, not only to help out as Carl started back at work, but just to share in the joy of our new baby.
Flurry of Updates
After heading back to work for a busy week, I (Carl) haven't had time to post new pictures. Now that I have a couple of easier days, look for a bunch of new pics today and tomorrow!

Ready to head home for the first time
On February 6, we packed up to take Annika home for the first time. Not a lot more exciting or anxiety-provoking than this. Also, a picture of me (Carl) asleep in the recliner once we got home. Kind of an exhausting time... but totally worth every minute.

Annika Marie Galloway
She's finally here! After nine-plus months of waiting, we finally headed to the hospital on February 4 (5 days late!), at about 2 am, when Liz started having headaches and higher blood pressure. We started the induction around 4 am, and at 9:00 pm on February 4, we welcomed Annika Marie into the world! She was 7 pounds 14.5 ounces and 20.5 inches long, and was the most alert (and cutest) newborn we've ever seen. (This is pretty obvious from the pictures!)

The Waiting Game....the suspense continues for ALL!
So for many of you who know.... Little "Carlita" Galloway's due date has come and gone! January 30th was when she was officially due. The waiting game continues!! I guess she thinks I have more on my "to do" list that needs to be done before she comes. We are praying she comes in the next day or two--otherwise the plan is to be induced on Saturday for sure. Each day she gets a little bigger & we all know-- a bigger baby means even more fun for momma with labor & delivery! ;)
